Course Overview

How do you become a fisher of men? Fishin’ on a Mission with Jesus, UMI’s latest Vacation Bible School program, shows your students the way. The program uses lessons from the Bible to lead your students to Jesus and teach them how to share His message with others. Our materials are geared toward the African-American Christian community and use proven Christian education methods to get your students excited about their faith.

The theme verse for Fishin’ on a Mission with Jesus is, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men” (Matthew 4:19, KJV). Our program begins at the fictional Witnessing in Action Youth Camp, where your students will meet characters just like them, who are also learning to share Jesus’ message with others.

As your students get to know the characters, they’ll also hear powerful Christian lessons about spreading God’s Word, as Apostle Paul did during his missionary journeys in the Book of Acts. The program will show your students how to follow Paul’s example in today’s society through each Big Catch of the Day:
